Church History

In September, 1991 Ron, Debbie, Jason and Ryan, moved from Southern California to  Oregon to pastor the North Bend Church of God.  By June, 1998 they had met Murray Watkinson, pastor of Celebration Centre of Christchurch, New Zealand.  Over the next two years he became both a mentor and friend to them.

After much prayer and consideration, and after 22 years, Ron decided to leave the Church of God and become a part of Celebration Centre.  They rented a building in January, 2000 and began a coffee house ministry.

Over the next 5 years, the congregation moved a few times and finally settled (for the time being anyway) in their current location, the former Roosevelt School.  With over 30,000 sq feet of usuable space, they have a beautiful sanctuary, a large lobby with a cafe and espresso bar, a new dining hall with commercial kitchen is on the way, Just Kids Early Learning Center, Expressions Dance Studio, classrooms and offices.  This is an exciting time, and the best is yet to come.
