Church History

The Celebration Center Center in North Bend was founded by Pastors Ron & Debbie Moore and officially began meeting together  in January, 2000 with approximately 40 people.  They rented a large storefront in downtown North Bend to begin a coffee house ministry with a Christian bookstore and a bible study group.  Within a month they needed a larger space for services and the storefront next door which had previously been used as a paintball arena became available.  The first service was held there on February 13th, 2000.

In March of 2000, Ron and Debbie went to New Zealand to attend the yearly Celebration Centre Movement Conference.  When they arrived home, the Port Theater in North Bend was up for sale for the first time in 16 years.  Through a series of miraculous events, they purchased the historic theater on May 23rd.  For the next 6 months they worked around the clock to get the Theater ready for the Grand Opening for the new home of Celebration Center in November, 2000.

In November of 2002, the church purchased the former Roosevelt School.  This grand and historic building had been built in the 1920's and had sat vacant for 2 years.  The church offices were moved to the new building and the school's gym was utilized for the church's Children's Ministries.  Then is September of 2004, Jason & Kara Moore opened Just Kids Daycare Center in one of the old classrooms of the school.  The Daycare soon outgrew the small space and now occupies 5 classrooms and an outdoor playground, serving over 60 children at a time.

The church remodeled the school gymnasium into a new, state of the art auditorium for our Sunday services.  The church moved all of it's services and operations to the Roosevelt School in April, 2005 and sold the Port Theater in June, 2005.

To date, the church is continues to grow in number and stature.  We have come a long way from our humble beginnings, and we look forward to seeing how God continues to bless this ministry.
